moms/dads out there-
THEN
faye used to go to bed. every night. every nap. she knew her bed was where she slept. she hated to snuggle & just wanted to be left alone to sleep. her evening routine got her snuggled, full, warm, tired & she would sleep through the night.
NOW
she's teething. so would want us to snuggle her a bit more. so we do. we still do evening routine.. but she WILL NOT GO TO BED. she cries like we are torturing her at every nap, every night. TORTURE. i can't just let her "cry it out" bc the longer the minutes, the more hideous the cry. she will cry for an hour, getting more & more upset. then by the time she has fussed & fussed her diaper is full& needs to be changed, we have to de-snot her nose & then it's just a mess.
is it just teething, or just that at 7 months she decided she hates to go to bed?
advice?
A little bit of both maybe. Unfortunately the only one who knows for sure would be the one who can't talk.
ReplyDeleteAshley went through a phase where if you closed her door she freaked out.
Try a little tylenol to see if it is her teeth.
With that ruled out then it's the age she's finally got freedom with crawling and pulling up and doesn't want to be contained. She's also aware that she's missing out of stuff. It'll pass. But the best way is let her cry it out and do the 5 minute method. But don't cave that makes it worse, it just taught her if she screams for an hour then you'll come in. I know it's tough. Put headphones on and listen to music to drown it out.
Best of luck!
